Skrillex ha pubblicato un EP a sorpresa, hit me where it hurts x , pubblicato tramite OWSLA/Atlantic Records. hit me where it hurts x include cinque tracce con collaborazioni di Caroline Polachek , Dylan Brady dei 100 gecs , Virtual Riot, Nakeesha e altri. “while you were sleeping” e “voltage (see you again)” sono apparse per la prima volta nel suo ultimo album, F*CK U SKRILLEX YOU THINK U ANDY WARHOL BUT UR NOT!! <3 .
La title track, “hit me where it hurts x”, è uscita una settimana prima, il 14 novembre, portando alcuni fan a ipotizzare che il produttore statunitense stesse lavorando a un nuovo progetto. Dopo la sua uscita, Skrillex ha condiviso delle scuse sui social media dopo che è stato rivelato che una fotografia non autorizzata era stata utilizzata per la copertina del singolo.
L’EP segue l’album in studio di aprile di Skrillex, “F*CK U SKRILLEX YOU THINK UR ANDY WARHOL BUT UR NOT!! <3” , che è stato recentemente nominato come miglior album dance/elettronico ai Grammy 2026. Il mese scorso, ha collaborato con il produttore trap di San Diego ISOxo sul brano ” Fuze”
